You have to make sure that it is something that you are very knowledgeable and passionate about it, there are several types of questions that are helpful to ask when you are this stage of the development process,is there a need for this product, is it something you love to do or sell, what is the competition for this product or service, what kind of advertising will you need for this product or service.

There are certain rules and regulations you have to be aware of when working from home, you will have to look at and become in formed with the restrictions of owning a home business around your area, the legal issue when operating a home-based business and you should become informed about all of them before you even spend a penny on the business.

You do not want to end up getting in trouble in the long run, protection and planning out how you want your home business to go is very important as well, you need to get insurance for your home as well as all the assets in your home and the things you use for your home business.

As far as the planning goes, creating set goals that you need to meet at specific times is something that can be beneficial, it can keep you motivated, which is key to success.
